Where I'm From
I grew up in Laurel, Maryland and moved to North Carolina when I was 9 years old. My family still lives down south. After graduating high school from NC School of the Arts, I moved to NYC and lived in Greenpoint, Hell's Kitchen, and the East Village all within 3 years. I lived in Aspen, Colorado for 5 years while dancing with the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet. I moved back to NYC in 2010 and have been living in Sunnyside (Queens) ever since.
My Dance Experience
My first professional dance job began in 2002 with Eliot Feld's Ballet Tech. Next, I toured North Africa/The Middle East, Eastern Europe, and Southeast Asia/Australia with Battery Dance Company in NYC. While dancing with Aspen Santa Fe Ballet I had the opportunity to dance works by many noted choreographers including Jiri Kylian, Cayetano Soto, Jorma Elo, Lar Lubovich, Twyla Tharp, Karole Armitage and David Parsons. Since 2010 I have been dancing with Ballet Hispanico of NY under Director Eduardo Vilaro; I have since performed the work of Andrea Miller, Ronald K. Brown, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Eduardo Vilaro, Pedro Ruiz, and Nacho Duato to name a few. I am currently very excited to premiere a new pas de deux by Cayetano Soto called "Sortijas" at the Joyce Theater during our 2-week season.

Other Passions & Interests
I teach pilates and am very passionate about inspiring my clients and helping them find a new and exciting experience of moving in their bodies. Pilates is also very useful for injury prevention and healing. I am getting involved with an exciting piece of equipment called CoreFitnessRoller (check it out on my website or Google if you haven't discovered it yet!) I love taking yoga for my own sanity and as a way to stay in shape when not rehearsing/performing. I try to meditate daily (keyword, try). I dream about trying a pottery class and also a jewelry design class where I can learn to work with metals. I also love to knit colorful socks - and my next project is a crochet blanket - I just have to pick out the yarn!
